A Strong Up Day Ends With a Fizzle - RSI Likes Three

Today in the market, Thursday June 12, 2008:  Stocks made sharp advances in the morning as oil slipped and financials had a revival.  However, as the day progressed, prices sagged and it ended with a modest gain.  The fizzle was caused by a lack of buying enthusiasm and profit taking.  Advancers equaled declining issues.  But hey, it ended with a gain and we will take it.

RSI’s Themes:  No clear theme today, but a Consumer Discretionary stock emerged as one of the three picks.  I've heard some good things about Urban Outfitters as a company and I suppose that it has an advantage in this tough economic environment.  All three stocks have been picked by RSI in the past.  No Falling Knife for today.

Stocks Medium Volatility:

  • ACAP - American Physicians Cap., Inc.
  • TNE - Tele Norte Leste Particip
  • URBN - Urban Outfitters, Inc.

These stocks have had a good, some would say great, last 200 trading days.  And they are breaking out from their recent corrections.  Maybe worth another look?
